The SSLC 2025 exams were held from March 21 to April 4 across the state. A total of 8,96,447 students appeared for the exam this year, including 4,61,563 boys and 4,34,884 girls. The exams took place in 2,818 centers, and around 65,000 evaluators have been working at 240 evaluation centers to ensure timely assessment of answer scripts.

When is SSLC Result 2025?

The Karnataka SSLC Result 2025 is expected to be announced in the first week of May 2025, as stated by School Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa. The exams were conducted from March 21 to April 4, 2025.

No Covid-Era Grace Marks Policy in 2025

This year, the Karnataka board has decided to discontinue the grace marks policy introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Minister Bangarappa stated that the board is returning to the pre-Covid grace marks system. Students who score a minimum of 175 marks across all subjects will be eligible for grace marks.

Additionally, the passing marks have been restored to 35 per subject, unlike the reduced 25 marks that were allowed during the pandemic years.

Previous Year SSLC Result Trends

In 2024, the SSLC results were declared on May 9. The overall pass percentage was 73.40%, which showed a decline compared to 2023’s 83.89% and 2022’s 85.13%. Interestingly, this percentage was close to the pre-pandemic level of 73.70% in 2019.

Also, in 2024, only 1 student scored the full 625 marks, compared to 4 students in 2023. The board had also increased the normalization weightage from 10% to 20% and temporarily reduced the passing criteria to support students during the transition.
